Terms & Conditions
1. Driver Requirements
Drivers must meet the following requirements to rent a vehicle from Hatzelenis Tours.
- Minimum Age: Drivers must be at least 23 years of age.
- Driver's License: The driver must possess and present a valid driver's license issued at least two (2) years prior to the rental date.
- International Driving Permit: Citizens of non-EU countries must present a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their national driver's license.
2. Payment & Financial Policies
All rentals are prepaid. The primary renter must present a valid credit card as a rental guarantee, even if the final payment is settled in cash. Greek citizens may utilize a debit card for this purpose. The renter assumes full legal and financial responsibility for all traffic violations and administrative fines incurred during the rental period.
3. Pick-Up & Delivery Options
Collections or deliveries scheduled outside of standard operating hours are subject to an additional fee of €15. Deliveries and collections outside standard stations are available upon request. No additional fees apply for services within city limits.
4. Add-Ons & Mileage
The following add-ons and policies apply to all rentals.
- Additional Driver: A secondary driver may be registered at a rate of €4 per day.
- Child Seats: Child/baby seats are complimentary, subject to availability and prior request.
- Mileage Allowance: Unlimited mileage is included in all bookings.
5. Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as recorded at the time of collection. If a vehicle is returned with less fuel, the renter will be billed for the missing fuel difference. No refunds or credits will be issued for vehicles returned with more fuel than originally provided.
6. Insurance & Damage Waivers
Standard vehicle insurance covers third-party damages but explicitly excludes the driver, passengers, and the rented vehicle itself.
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver
Upon signing the relevant contract terms, the renter's financial liability is limited to an excess amount:
- Standard Vehicles: €500 + VAT excess.
- Minivans: €1,000 + VAT excess.
FDW – Full Damage Waiver
Renters may opt for zero-excess coverage by accepting the FDW terms and paying the corresponding daily rate upon request.
Insurance Exclusions
No insurance policy (including CDW/FDW) covers damage to tires, damages underneath the vehicle, or the loss/theft of personal belongings. Furthermore, coverage is voided if damages result from traffic law violations (e.g., disobeying traffic lights/STOP signs, driving under the influence of alcohol, etc.).
7. Accident & Roadside Assistance
In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify Hatzelenis Tours and the police (Emergency Number: 100) to ensure insurance coverage remains valid. All vehicles feature 24-hour roadside assistance. For support, renters must contact the company directly via our WhatsApp support line.
8. Key Protection
Vehicle keys are not covered by insurance. The renter is fully liable for the replacement cost of a lost or damaged key, which ranges from €90 to €280 depending on the vehicle.
9. Fleet & Extended Rentals
Bookings are confirmed by vehicle category, not by specific models. In the event that a confirmed category is unavailable, Hatzelenis Tours reserves the right to upgrade the customer to an equal or higher category at no additional cost. Rental agreements must be physically renewed every 30 days at our main corporate office located in Karfas, Chios.
